Adding new cryptocurrencies, retaining customers, and increasing sales.

Introduction


Mode is a digital wallet and cryptocurrency platform that empowers individuals and businesses. It provides secure purchase and management of digital assets and offers cash-back rewards for transactions with select retail brands.


However, as the cryptocurrency market became increasingly competitive, Mode faced mounting pressure to innovate and keep pace with user demands. Despite its initial success, stagnant user growth and feedback about usability challenges highlighted the need for a significant redesign to remain competitive.

However, as the cryptocurrency market became increasingly competitive, Mode faced mounting pressure to innovate and keep pace with user demands. Despite its initial success, stagnant user growth and feedback about usability challenges highlighted the need for a significant redesign to remain competitive.

Key Challenges


New users struggled to settle in, while existing users began seeking alternatives. To address these issues, we needed to overhaul the user experience, make the interface more intuitive, and expand the cryptocurrency offerings to cater to a wider audience.


Scalability: Ensuring the mobile app efficiently processes cryptocurrency sales and purchases while maintaining existing security and accessibility standards.


Legacy System Challenge: Redesign the outdated mobile app, integrating new currencies and features while preserving the existing functionality.


User-centric focus: Tailor the native mobile app to meet users' unique needs with intuitive design and seamless feature integration, ensuring a smooth and satisfying experience.

The leadership team set a bold goal: to increase sales and user retention by improving the platform’s usability, introducing new UI and expanding its cryptocurrency offering.


As the lead designer on this project for the next six months, I drove a redesign of the UI and collaborated across teams to seamlessly integrate new cryptocurrencies into the platform.
